This was a collaboration project that was created in South Korea with this awesome dood, YeongGwang Ra.
Despite the language barrier between us, we were able to communicate an idea through hand gestures and motions.
I refer to this project as "Signs." As a foreigner in a counter where I could speak or even recognize the alphabet to read the language, I felt confused more often the not. However, I was also mesmerized by the culture.
This piece was meant to abstractly articulate that experience to the locals by drawing inspiration from the form of the Korean alphabet, however the words do not make sense and the form is embellished on.
Playing off how I felt as a visitor in a foreign country. I created this "Space Egg" in as a kind of representation of my internalization of the experience.
